Test Background
Intrusion hardness is mainly used for metal materials. The method is to use a certain load to press a specified indenter into the material to be tested, and compare the softness and hardness of the material to be tested based on the local plastic deformation of the material surface. Due to the difference in indenter, load and load duration, there are many kinds of indentation hardness, mainly Brinell hardness, Rockwell hardness, Vickers hardness and micro hardness.
The rapid intrusion hardness test of metal materials can be carried out by using a rapid intrusion (Brinell type) hardness tester to perform rapid Brinell type hardness on parts at the production site. Scope of tests
Metal materials are divided into ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals. The ferrous metals include iron, copper, manganese and steel. Non-ferrous metals include tin alloys, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, copper alloys, aluminum alloys and zinc alloys.
Test method
1. Press the tungsten carbide alloy ball indenter into the surface of the metal material under specified conditions, and measure the pressing depth.
2. The penetration depth is measured starting from the reference position established after applying the initial test force. The indentation depth measurement is converted to the total indentation depth and then to the Brinell hardness value of the corresponding scale.
