Test Background
In recent years, the application of particle-reinforced aluminum alloy matrix composite materials in automobile engines has become increasingly widespread. At present, automotive internal combustion engine parts such as pistons, connecting rods, and cylinder liners made of alloy composite materials have been developed, and have achieved good economic benefits. The tensile failure of composite materials and matrix alloys is a mixed mode of plastic fracture and brittle fracture, but as the particle volume fraction increases, the brittle fracture characteristics become more obvious.
The room temperature tensile test of metal matrix composites can determine the room temperature tensile properties of particle reinforced metal matrix composites and short fiber reinforced metal matrix composites.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various metals and alloys, and provides professional room temperature tensile testing services for metal matrix composite materials.
Scope of tests
Metal matrix composite materials are composite materials with metal (such as aluminum, magnesium, titanium, nickel, etc.) or alloy as the matrix and particles, fibers, whiskers, etc. as reinforcements.
It can be divided into aluminum-based, magnesium-based, copper-based, titanium-based, high-temperature alloy-based, intermetallic compound-based and refractory metal-based composite materials.
Test method
1. Unless otherwise specified, the test should be conducted at an ambient temperature of 10 ℃ ~ 35 ℃. For tests with strict temperature requirements, the test temperature should be 23 ℃ ± 5 ℃.
2. The test system uses tensile force to stretch the sample, usually until it breaks, to measure one or several mechanical properties. The measured mechanical properties mainly include plastic elongation strength, total elongation strength, maximum force plastic elongation, maximum force total elongation, total elongation at break, elongation after fracture, shrinkage of area, etc.
