Test Background
Elevator wire rope is made of single strands twisted in a spiral shape around a rope core. Generally speaking, the elevator wire rope wears very slowly during use because its hardness is higher than the rope groove. The Vickers hardness test of steel wire used in elevator wire ropes can determine the Vickers hardness of the steel wires used in elevator wire ropes.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various steel wires and steel wire products, and provides professional Vickers hardness testing services for steel wires used in elevator wire ropes.
Scope of tests
In the domestic market, there are mainly the following types of steel wire ropes for elevators:
Phosphate coated steel wire rope, galvanized steel wire rope, stainless steel wire rope, plastic coated steel wire rope, smooth steel wire rope.
Test method
1. With a certain test force, press the regular square pyramid diamond indenter with the specified angle on the top two opposite surfaces into the cross section of the steel wire sample at an appropriate speed. After maintaining the specified time, unload the test force, measure the diagonal length of the indentation, and obtain the corresponding Vickers hardness value.
2. Calculate the arithmetic mean of the Vickers hardness of 5 single points and record it as the average Vickers hardness.
