Test Background
The compression test of steel wire and steel wire products is an important means to inspect the quality of steel wire and steel wire products, and is also an important part of ensuring safe production. The compression test of steel wires and steel wire products can measure their compression properties and detect surface defects of steel wires.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various steel wires and steel wire products, and provides professional compression testing services for steel wires and steel wire products.
Scope of tests
is suitable for cold-worked steel wires, annealed steel wires, quenched and tempered steel wires and coated steel wires with constant cross-section (circular or special-shaped).
Test method
1. Cut a straight sample with a length equal to 1 times (or 1.5 times) the diameter. The center line of the longitudinal axis of the steel wire should coincide with the axis of the indenter.
2. Place the sample on the flat surface of the pressure testing machine and compress it to a specified percentage of the original length in the direction of the steel wire axis at room temperature. Check whether there are surface cracks on the compressed sample.
3. Specific requirements are based on relevant product standards.
