Test Background
Tensile testing can test the strength of steel wires and steel wire products, and can also test the ductility, determine the stretchable range of steel wires and steel wire products, and detect their quality. Tensile testing of steel wires and steel wire products can determine their tensile properties.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various steel wires and steel wire products, and provides professional tensile testing services for steel wires and steel wire products.
Scope of tests
is suitable for cold-worked steel wires, annealed steel wires, quenched and tempered steel wires and coated steel wires with constant cross-section (circular or special-shaped).
Test method
1. General requirements: The tensile test should be performed in accordance with GB/T 228.1 to measure the tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, area shrinkage, elastic modulus and other mechanical properties of the steel wire.
2. Knotted tensile test: Tie a single knot in the middle of the steel wire sample and perform the knotted tensile test in accordance with GB/T 228.1.
3. Elastic modulus test: When required in product standards, an extensometer should be used to measure the elastic modulus (E) of the steel wire. In the force-elongation curve, the elastic modulus (E) is determined by dividing the slope of the straight line segment from 0.2Fm to 0.7Fm by the nominal cross-sectional area of the sample.
The slope can be obtained by linear regression of the measured data, or by visual inspection using the best fit method. When measuring the elastic modulus, the stress rate should remain constant within the specified force value range.
