Test Background
When a vehicle is braked under normal use, shear stress is developed within the disc brake pad material. In drum brake linings, shear stresses are also increased due to geometric effects. The shoe with the greatest stress generates the greatest shear stress. The vehicle brake lining shear strength test determines the internal shear strength properties of road vehicle brake linings.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various vehicle brake linings and provides professional shear strength testing services for vehicle brake linings.
Scope of tests
is suitable for friction materials of disc brake pads and drum brake linings for road vehicles.
Test method
1. Place the sample in the fixture and gradually increase the load. The loading direction should be parallel to the shear direction during normal operation.
2. There should be no impact when loading the testing machine, and the loading rate should comply with regulations.
Note: The test shall be carried out until the lining material breaks.
