Vehicle brake lining compression strain test

Vehicle brake lining compression strain test-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

Brake lining refers to the friction material fixed on the brake drum or brake disc that rotates with the wheel, so that the friction pad and friction pad produce friction under the action of external pressure to achieve the purpose of vehicle deceleration. Brake lining compression strain is an important design parameter in evaluating the tendency to transfer brake fluid volume, brake pedal movement, and shudder or noise.
The vehicle brake lining compression strain test determines the compressive strain performance of road vehicle brake linings.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various vehicle brake linings and provides professional compressive strain testing services for vehicle brake linings.

Scope of tests

Road vehicle disc brake pad assembly, drum brake shoe assembly and brake lining without backing plate friction material.

Test method

1. Test loads applied by the two methods used:
a) Pressure per unit area (generally method A), expressed in MPa;
b) The pressure equal to the hydraulic line pressure acting on the vehicle braking system (method B), expressed in MPa (1 MPa=10 bar).
2. Method B is usually used when the braking system is hydraulically driven. The results of Method A and Method B are not directly comparable.

Test standard:

GB/T 22311-2008 Road vehicles Brake linings Compressive strain test method
ISO 6310: 2001 Road vehicles Brake linings Compressive strain test method
KS R ISO 6310-2014 Road vehicles Brake linings Compressive strain test method
BS ISO 6310-2009 Road vehicles Brake linings Compressive strain test method
