Test Background
The bending strength of glass depends on its inherent ability to resist fracture and the brittleness of the glass itself. Some factors cause the discreteness of glass strength, so sampling testing is required. The glass material bending strength test can measure the bending strength of glass materials, and can also separately evaluate the impact of the glass edge on the bending strength.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has reliability testing capabilities for various glass materials and provides professional bending strength testing services for glass materials.
Scope of tests
1. The three-point bending method is suitable for bending strength testing of brittle materials such as glass.
2. The four-point bending method is suitable for the bending strength test of flat glass such as annealed glass, tempered glass, semi-tempered glass, and patterned glass. It is not suitable for the bending strength test of composite glass such as laminated glass and insulating glass.
3. Not suitable for bending strength testing of glass with a thickness below 3 mm.
Test method
Under the specified test conditions, a sample of a certain size and shape is fractured by a static bending load. The bending strength of the sample is obtained by calculating the maximum bending stress at the cross section that bears the load.
