Test Background
The tensile strength of plastics refers to the stress at which the plastic material produces maximum uniform plastic deformation. In the tensile test, the maximum tensile stress experienced by the plastic sample until it breaks is the tensile strength, and the result is expressed in MPa.
Plastic tensile testing can measure the tensile properties of plastics and determine the tensile strength, tensile modulus and other aspects of the tensile stress/strain relationship under specified conditions.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has reliability testing capabilities for various plastics and provides professional tensile testing services for plastics and related products.
Scope of tests
1. Rigid and semi-rigid thermoplastic molding, extrusion and casting materials, including filled and reinforced composite materials, reinforced filling materials such as short fibers, thin rods, small flakes and fine granules, excluding textile fiber reinforced composite materials.
2. Rigid and semi-rigid thermosetting molding and casting materials, including filled and reinforced composite materials, except textile fiber reinforced materials.
3. Thermotropic liquid crystal polymer.
4. Not suitable for hard microporous materials or materials containing a sandwich structure of microporous materials and flexible films and sheets with a thickness less than 1 mm.
Test method
The specimen is stretched at a constant speed along the longitudinal axis of the specimen until the specimen breaks or its stress (load) or strain (elongation) reaches a predetermined value, and the load and elongation endured by the test during this process are measured.
These methods are applicable to specimens of selected dimensions prepared by molding, or specimens prepared by machining, cutting, or punching from finished or semi-finished products (such as moldings, laminates, films, and extruded or cast sheets).
