Test Background
Shear strength refers to the maximum shear stress that a material can bear under the action of shear stress. The plastic shear test can use a circular perforator to measure the shear strength of the plastic by compression perforation.

Scope of tests
Rigid thermoplastics and thermosets, including filled plastics and fiber-reinforced composites.
Thermoset molded sheets, including fillers and reinforcements, thermoset sheets, including laminates, fiber-reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic composites containing unidirectional or non-unidirectional reinforcements such as felt, textile fibers, textile rovings, chopped strand combinations or hybrid reinforcements, twistless rovings and ground fibers, etc.; sheets made of prepreg thermotropic liquid crystal polymers.
Test method
This method uses compression shearing with a circular punch to apply shear load to the sample to cause shear deformation or damage to the sample to measure the shear strength of the material.
