Test Background
Fiber-reinforced plastic axial compression test can measure the axial compression performance of fiber-reinforced thermosetting plastic pipes with a nominal diameter of 50 mm~100 mm and a ratio of diameter to reinforcement layer thickness not greater than 50.

Scope of tests
Commonly used fiber-reinforced plastics include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyester (PET) and other high-molecular polymers and high-purity natural wood, as well as some man-made fibers (cellulose fibers), glass-reinforced resins and metal fibers.
It can be divided into three categories according to its molding methods: thermoplastic resin, thermosetting resin, and polycarbonate.
Test method
1. When measuring the axial compressive strength, apply a uniform and continuous load to the sample until failure. Record the maximum load.
2. When measuring the axial compression elastic modulus, place an instrument measuring deformation in the middle of the sample. When using an automatic recording device, continuous loading is possible. If graded loading is used, it should be divided into at least five levels, and the maximum load applied should not exceed the elastic deformation range of the material.
3. Specimens with end-face extrusion damage or reinforced section damage should be discarded. When there are less than 5 valid samples in the same batch, the test should be repeated.
