Test Background

Seam fatigue strength, that is, under the specified test conditions, put the sewn sample into the testing machine, repeatedly apply tension-relaxation effect on the sample at a fixed operating rate, after a certain operating period, keep the sample in the testing machine, and measure the size of the stitching pinhole while maintaining the original load in a static state. The size of the pinhole at this time is the seam fatigue strength, which is used to characterize the stitching performance of artificial leather/synthetic leather. The fatigue strength test of artificial leather seams can determine the fatigue strength of artificial leather seams.

Scope of tests

1. Classification according to the synthetic resin used: polyvinyl chloride artificial leather, polyamide artificial leather, polyolefin artificial leather, polyurethane artificial leather.
2. Classified by base material: cotton cloth-based artificial leather, synthetic fiber-based artificial leather and fiber-based artificial leather.
3. Classification by production method: direct coating and scraping method artificial leather, transfer coating and scraping method artificial leather, calendering and laminating method artificial leather, extrusion laminating method artificial leather, rotary screen coating method artificial leather, wet method artificial leather.
4. Classification by use: Artificial leather can be divided into two categories: civil use and industrial use.
Civilian leather includes: leather for shoe covers, leather for clothes, leather for boxes, straw for bags, leather for handbags, leather for gloves and carts, straw for furniture, etc. Industrial leather includes: vehicle leather, floor leather, etc.

Test method

Artificial leather Synthetic leather reciprocates at a constant frequency under a constant load. The changes in pinholes at the stitching parts can measure the material's ability to resist sewing fatigue.
