Low temperature flattening test of rubber and plastic hoses

Low temperature flattening test of rubber and plastic hoses-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

The low-temperature flattening test of rubber and plastic hoses can determine the low-temperature brittleness of fabric-reinforced rubber and plastic hoses and non-reinforced hoses by flattening hose samples. The optional test temperatures are: 0℃±2℃; -10℃±2℃; -25℃±2℃; -40℃±2℃; -55℃±2℃.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various rubber and plastic hoses, and provides professional low-temperature flattening test services for rubber and plastic hoses.

Scope of tests

is mainly divided into: threading hoses, drainage hoses, ventilation hoses, shower hoses, and wiring harness tubes according to their uses.
According to the material, it is mainly divided into: corrugated hose, rubber hose, and plastic hose.
Only applicable to hoses with nominal inner diameter less than or equal to 100mm.

Test method

Flatten a hose sample to 50% of its inner diameter at the test temperature, and after the pressure is relieved, check whether there are cracks or other abnormalities inside and outside.
1. Place the sample and compression clamp into the conditioning chamber and adjust at the test temperature for 24 hours. Before the test, place the specimen between the two flat plates of the compression fixture and condition it at the test temperature for at least 30 min. ISO 23529 gives guidance on how to achieve specified temperatures.
2. After reaching the specified adjustment time, place the sample perpendicular to the flat plate and flatten it to 50% of its inner diameter within 5 s ± 2 s. Tests may also be carried out on other suitable mechanical testing devices.
3. In principle, the test should be conducted in the conditioning room. If this is not possible, remove the specimen from the conditioning chamber and carry out the test within 15 s. After the test, let the sample stand and return to room temperature.
