Test Background
Regardless of whether the Shore hardness tester or the portable International Rubber Hardness Tester is used to measure rubber hardness, a certain indentation depth is formed on the rubber surface by the combined effect to express the hardness measurement result. The indentation depth depends on: the elastic modulus of the rubber, the viscoelasticity and anelasticity of the rubber, the thickness of the sample, the geometry of the indenter, the applied pressure, the speed of pressure increase, and the time interval for recording the hardness.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers, and provides professional indentation hardness testing services for vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers.
Scope of tests
Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.
Test method
The method for testing the indentation hardness (Shore hardness) of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber using the following scale is as follows:
A scale is suitable for ordinary hardness range. A hardness tester using A scale is called Shore A hardness tester;
D scale, suitable for high hardness range, the hardness tester using D scale is called Shore D hardness tester;
AO scale is suitable for low hardness rubber and sponge. The hardness tester using AO scale is called Shore AO type hardness tester;
AM scale is suitable for thin samples in the ordinary hardness range. Hardness testers using AM scale are called Shore AM type hardness testers.
