Vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber compressive stress relaxation test

Vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber compressive stress relaxation test-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

When a constant strain is applied to rubber, the force required to maintain the strain is not constant, but decreases with time. This phenomenon is called "stress relaxation." In addition to specifying the test temperature and time interval, the stress relaxation test of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber also needs to specify the initial stress and the stress condition of the sample, because these will affect the stress relaxation test results, especially for rubber containing fillers.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers, and provides professional compressive stress relaxation testing services for vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers.

Scope of tests

Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.

Test method

Method A: The test temperature alternates between high and low temperatures at regular intervals. The high-temperature stage evaluates the aging resistance of the rubber material, and the low-temperature stage evaluates the sealing performance of the rubber material. Method B: The test temperature continuously alternates between high and low temperatures to generate thermal stress inside the rubber material.
The compressive force is determined using a continuous measuring system. The specimens shall be of two types: cylindrical and annular. Specimens of different shapes and sizes will obtain different results. Only specimens of the same shape and size can have test results that can be compared. Ring specimens are particularly suitable for the determination of stress relaxation in liquid environments.
