Tensile stress and strain performance test of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

The tensile stress and strain performance test of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber can determine the tensile stress and strain properties of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, constant elongation stress, constant stress elongation, yield point tensile stress and yield point elongation. The measurement of yield point tensile stress and strain is only applicable to certain thermoplastic rubbers and certain other rubber compounds.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers, and provides professional tensile stress strain performance testing services for vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers.

Scope of tests

Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.

Test method

1. Stretch the dumbbell-shaped or ring-shaped standard specimen on a tensile testing machine with a movable holder or a pulley that moves at a constant speed. Record the values of force and elongation required for the specimen during continuous stretching and when it breaks, as required.
2. Dumbbell-shaped specimens and ring-shaped specimens may not necessarily yield the same stress-strain performance values. This is mainly due to the uneven stress on the cross-section of the ring specimen when stretching it; another reason is the existence of the "calendering effect", which can cause the dumbbell-shaped specimen to obtain different values because its length direction is parallel or perpendicular to the rolling direction.
