Test Background
Thermal stress refers to the force per unit initial area generated when the sample is heated. The vulcanized rubber hot tensile stress test measures the tensile stress (thermal stress) that occurs in vulcanized rubber when it is heated. The changes of thermal stress with time were measured under different pre-strain and different temperature conditions.

Scope of tests
In terms of its vulcanization method, vulcanized rubber can be roughly divided into:
(1) Flat vulcanizing machine vulcanization: flat tapes such as conveyor belts and transmission belts;
(2) Vulcanizing tank vulcanization: rubber hoses, rubber rollers, rubber shoes, air bags, rubber strips, tapes, drum lagging, pipe linings, cables, etc.;
(3) Continuous vulcanization: sealing strips, pure rubber hoses, wires and cables, etc.;
Test method
1. Maintain the specimen at a constant prestrain in tension mode at standard laboratory temperature. When the prestress caused by a given prestrain reaches the apparent equilibrium value, the specimen temperature is increased. The thermal stress generated at high temperatures was measured as a function of time under different prestrain conditions.
2. The temperature control room should be able to increase the temperature at a rate of at least 30°C/min and maintain the sample at the required temperature specified in GB/T 2941. The suitable volume of this chamber is 3L to 5L. The temperature sensing device should be located in the chamber adjacent to the specimen.
