Vulcanized rubber tensile fatigue test-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

Fatigue life refers to the number of cycles required for a sample to repeatedly deform until it breaks under a specified tensile strain. Tensile fatigue refers to the phenomenon of crack growth and fracture caused by repeated tensile deformation of the sample. The vulcanized rubber tensile fatigue test is suitable for rubber with stable stress-strain properties, which does not show excessive stress softening or permanent deformation, or a high viscosity state, at least after a certain cycle of cycles.
The vulcanized rubber tensile fatigue test can determine the fatigue resistance of vulcanized rubber under repeated tensile deformation conditions. Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers and provides professional tensile fatigue testing services for vulcanized rubber.

Scope of tests

In terms of its vulcanization method, vulcanized rubber can be roughly divided into:
1) Flat vulcanizing machine vulcanization: flat tapes such as conveyor belts and transmission belts;
2) Vulcanizing tank vulcanization: rubber hoses, rubber rollers, rubber shoes, air bags, rubber strips, tapes, roller coatings, pipe linings, cables, etc.;
3) Continuous vulcanization: sealing strips, pure rubber hoses, wires and cables, etc.

Test method

Dumbbell-shaped specimens or ring-shaped specimens are deformed repeatedly until they break under tension only. The specimen should relax to zero strain during each cycle. The number of deformation cycles at which the specimen breaks is defined as the fatigue life.
It can be determined as a function of the maximum strain and, if desired, of the maximum stress or strain energy density applied during the test.
