Test Background
The compressive strength or extrusion resistance of the gasket material is an important factor in selecting sealing materials under specific conditions. The high-temperature compressive strength test of gaskets can measure the compression (resistance to extrusion deformation) characteristics of gasket materials at high temperatures.
Zhongke Testing and Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various sealing gaskets, and provides professional high-temperature compressive strength testing services for sealing gaskets.
Scope of tests
1. Non-metallic gaskets: rubber, asbestos rubber sheet, flexible graphite, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc., all have rectangular cross-sections;
2. Metal composite gaskets: various metal clad gaskets, metal wound gaskets;
3. Metal gaskets: metal flat gaskets, corrugated gaskets, annular gaskets, toothed gaskets, lens gaskets, triangular gaskets, biconical rings, C-shaped rings, hollow O-rings, etc.
Test method
At 150°C, apply different stresses perpendicular to the surface of the sample cut from the gasket material for a specified period of time. Measure the changes in thickness and surface shape of the sample before and after being compressed. Draw a graph of the deformation percentage of the sample under different stresses, and then determine the yield stress when the material thickness no longer decreases (i.e., in planar dimensions) or is not extruded.
This condition is manifested by physically measuring changes in specimen dimensions. According to the requirements of both suppliers and buyers, tests at different temperatures are required to determine the relationship between temperature and compression.
