Test Background
Tensile properties are the most important mechanical properties of carbon fiber. The tensile properties of carbon fiber yarns at home and abroad are mainly measured using dipped yarns. The carbon fiber dipped yarn tensile property test can determine the tensile strength, tensile elastic modulus and tensile strain of carbon fiber.
Zhongke Testing and Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various carbon fibers, and provides professional dipped yarn tensile performance testing services for carbon fibers.
Scope of tests
1. Classification according to the performance of carbon fiber:
High-performance carbon fiber (including high-strength carbon fiber, high-modulus carbon fiber, medium-modulus carbon fiber, etc.);
Low-performance carbon fiber (including refractory fiber, carbon fiber, graphite fiber, etc.).
2. Classification based on raw fiber type: polyacrylonitrile-based fiber, viscose-based carbon fiber, pitch-based carbon fiber, lignin fiber-based carbon fiber, other organic fiber-based;
3. Classification according to the function of carbon fiber: carbon fiber for stressed structures, flame-resistant carbon fiber, activated carbon fiber (adsorption activity), conductive carbon fiber, lubricating carbon fiber, and wear-resistant carbon fiber.
Test method
After the yarn is evenly impregnated and solidified, it is stretched until it breaks under the constant speed loading of an appropriate mechanical device. According to the tensile stress-strain curve, the tensile strength, tensile elastic modulus and tensile strain at maximum load are calculated. The tensile modulus of elasticity is the ratio of the change in stress to the corresponding change in strain.
The stress-strain relationship of carbon fiber yarn is nonlinear, so the secant modulus should be defined. Usually defined by two strain points. Linear density and sizing agent content should be measured separately.
