Test Background
The Shore hardness test of metal materials is a dynamic force test. Compared with the static force test methods such as Bu, Luo and Wei, the accuracy is slightly worse. Affected by factors such as the verticality during the test and the surface finish of the sample, the data dispersion is large. The comparison of the test results is limited to materials with the same elastic modulus.
The Shore hardness test has certain requirements on the thickness and weight of the sample and is not suitable for thinner and smaller samples. However, it is a lightweight portable instrument that is convenient for on-site testing. It has a simple structure, is easy to operate, and has high testing efficiency.

Scope of tests
Metal materials are divided into ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals. The ferrous metals include iron, copper, manganese and steel.
Non-ferrous metals include tin alloys, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, copper alloys, aluminum alloys and zinc alloys.
Test method

3. The reading of the Shaw hard measure shall be as accurate as 0.5 HS; the average of five continuous valid readings is used as a Shaw hard measure with an average of GB/T8170 modified to the integer.
