Leeb hardness test of metal materials

Leeb hardness test of metal materials-Mechanical Testing-

Test Background

Metal material hardness refers to the material's ability to resist local deformation, especially plastic deformation, indentation or scratches. It is a measure of the softness and hardness of a material. The Leeb hardness tester does not require a workbench. Its hardness sensor is as small as a pen and can be operated directly by hand. Whether it is a large, heavy workpiece or a workpiece with complex geometric dimensions, it can be easily detected.
Another advantage of the Leeb hardness testing method is that it causes very little damage to the surface of the product and can sometimes be used as a non-destructive test; it is unique in testing hardness in all directions, narrow spaces and special parts.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various metal materials, and provides professional Leeb hardness testing services for metal materials.

Scope of tests

Metal materials are divided into ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals. The ferrous metals include iron, copper, manganese and steel.
Non-ferrous metals include tin alloys, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, copper alloys, aluminum alloys and zinc alloys.

Test method

Leeb hardness test method is a dynamic hardness test method, which uses an impact body of specified mass to vertically impact the sample surface at a certain speed under the action of spring force. The Leeb hardness of the material is expressed by the ratio of the rebound speed of the impact body at a distance of 1 mm from the sample surface to the impact speed.
