Test Background
The metal material pipe ring tensile test can stretch the sample until it breaks to expose the surface and internal defects of the sample. It can also be used to evaluate the ductility of metal pipes. Scope of tests
Classified by production method: seamless pipes and welded pipes.
Seamless pipes are divided into hot-rolled pipes, cold-rolled pipes, cold-drawn pipes and extruded pipes due to different production processes. Welded pipes can be divided into straight seam welded pipes and spiral welded pipes due to different welding seam directions.
Classified by material: ordinary carbon pipes, alloy steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, bearing steel pipes, weather-resistant steel pipes, corrosion-resistant steel pipes and various non-ferrous metal pipes.
According to the state of the pipe end, it can be divided into plain pipe and threaded pipe. Threaded pipes can be divided into ordinary threaded pipes, special threaded pipes, etc.
Test method
Cut a pipe ring sample from one end of the metal pipe, and subject the metal pipe ring sample to circumferential deformation until fracture occurs.
1. The test is generally conducted at room temperature of 10 ℃ ~ 35 ℃. For tests required to be conducted under controlled conditions, the temperature should be controlled at 23°C ± 5°C.
2. Place the pipe ring sample cut from the metal pipe on two cylindrical pins. The two cylindrical pins move toward each other at a certain speed to deform the pipe ring until it breaks. In the event of dispute over the test results, the test rate shall not exceed 5 mm/s.
3. The evaluation of the pipe ring tensile test should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of relevant product standards. When there is no provision in the product standard, if there are no other visually visible cracks when the expected fracture of the sample occurs, the test sample is deemed to be qualified.
