Impact resistance test of furniture surface paint film

The paint film on the furniture surface has excellent impact resistance and can withstand rapid deformation under high-rate gravity without cracking or falling off from the metal substrate. The furniture surface paint film impact resistance test can evaluate the impact resistance of the paint film on the surface of wooden parts in furniture.

A steel cylindrical impact block is free to fall from a specified height along a vertical conduit, and impacts a steel ball with a specified diameter and hardness placed on the surface of the test piece. The impact resistance of the paint film is evaluated with a numerical grade based on the degree of damage to the paint film at the impacted part of the surface of the test piece.
1. Impact height The recommended impact heights are: 10 mm, 25 mm, 50 mm, 100 mm, 200 mm, 400 mm. The impact height is the distance from the upper surface of the steel ball to the bottom surface of the impact block, and its measurement deviation is ±0.5 mm.
2. Selection of impact height When evaluating whether the impact resistance of the paint film meets the specified requirements, the impact test can be directly performed at a certain impact height. When evaluating the maximum impact resistance of the paint film, each impact height should be passed step by step until the maximum impact height or the fifth level of damage to the paint film occurs.

Level 1: No visible changes (no damage)
Level 2: There are no cracks on the paint film surface, but impact marks are visible
Level 3: There are slight cracks on the surface of the paint film, usually 1 to 2 ring cracks or arc cracks
Level 4: There are moderate to heavy cracks on the surface of the paint film, usually 3 to 4 rings or arc cracks
Level 5: There is serious damage to the paint film surface, usually more than 5 circles of ring cracks, arc cracks or paint film peeling off.
