Test Background

The purpose of the compression rate and rebound rate test of non-metallic gasket materials is to determine the short-term compression rate and rebound rate of gasket materials at room temperature. It is suitable for plate gasket materials, on-site formed gaskets and gaskets cut from sheets in some cases. It is not applicable to the compression rate (usually called "creep") or rebound rate (the opposite is often called "compression permanent deformation") of materials under long-term pressure.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various non-metallic gasket materials, and provides professional reliability testing services such as compression rate rebound rate test, tensile strength test, and softness test for non-metallic gasket materials.

Scope of tests

Rolled asbestos board, copied asbestos board, flexible graphite, asbestos paper and board, cork gasket, cork and foam rubber, cork and synthetic rubber, treated or untreated cellulose or other organic fiber paper, non-asbestos compressed board, non-asbestos copied board, non-asbestos paper and board, fluorocarbon polymer (field formed gasket), etc.

Test method

1. First measure the deflection of the indenter under the total load without placing the sample, and add the absolute value of the deflection of the indenter to the thickness M under the total load to obtain the correction reading. This offset is a mechanical constant and may vary between different test equipment.
2. Place the sample in the center of the chopping board, apply an initial load, hold for 15 seconds, and record the thickness of the sample under the initial load. Immediately apply the main load at a slow and constant speed, reaching the specified total load within 10 seconds. When the indenter descends, its end face should always be parallel to the surface of the chopping board.
Maintain the total load for 60 seconds and record the specimen thickness at this time. Immediately remove the main load and keep it for 60 seconds. Record the thickness of the sample under the original load at this time. This is the rebound thickness.
