Test Background
The low-temperature bending test of coated fabrics refers to a test method in which rubber or plastic-coated fabrics are exposed to low temperature for a certain period of time and then subjected to bending at a specified temperature to determine their low-temperature resistance. It is suitable for coated fabrics with a thickness of 0.1 mm~2.2 mm.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various rubber or plastic coated fabric materials and products, and provides professional low-temperature bending test services for coated fabrics.
Test Principle
After the specimen is conditioned in the specified environment, it is exposed to a specified low temperature chamber for a certain period of time, and then the bending test is performed on a suitable device and the specimen is inspected.
Test method
1. Measure the thickness of each sample as specified. Place the three conditioned specimens between the glass plates, leaving sufficient space between each specimen to allow air to pass through during conditioning. After conditioning, place the specimen and glass plate assembly, bending frame and cold gloves into a cryogenic chamber and, unless otherwise specified, maintain it at the specified test temperature for 4 h.
2. After the exposure period is over, the specimens are not removed from the cryogenic chamber. The specimens are taken out one at a time from between the glass plates in the cryogenic chamber and placed on the bending rack. At this time, the rack uses a clutch to keep the metal plate used for bending in the open position.
Unless otherwise specified, for single-sided coated fabrics, the coated side faces away from the reel; for double-sided coated fabrics, unless otherwise specified, either side can be evaluated, or both sides can be evaluated.
3. After placing the sample on the bending frame, release the clutch immediately to allow the bending plate to fall freely.
4. After all samples have been tested, take them out of the cryogenic box and use a 5x magnifying glass to check for breaks or cracks on the coating surface of each sample.
During inspection, fold the specimen 180° in the same bending direction as during the test.
