Test on static load shear resistance of coated fabrics

The static load shear resistance test of coated fabrics refers to the shear resistance of coated fabric seams under constant external force. Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various rubber or plastic coated fabric materials and products, and provides professional static load shear resistance testing services for coated fabrics.

Apply a constant external force perpendicular to the direction of the seam at both ends of a coated fabric seam of a certain width for a certain period of time, and visually observe or measure the seam slippage or separation under the constant external force with a measuring tool.

1. Clamp the sample in the fixture so that the sample is in the center of the fixture. The distance between the edge of the joint and the fixture is no more than 25 mm. Draw markings on the upper and lower sides of the joint.
2. Apply static load force to the joint through the clamp according to product standards.
3. Measure the distance S between the marking lines under static load conditions and record it as S₀.
4. Conduct the test at the time and temperature specified in the product standard.
5. If slippage occurs during the test, re-clamp the sample. If breakage or tearing occurs, test with a new sample. The elongation capacity of some materials may exceed the allowable elongation range of the test device. If the sample in the fixture still cannot fit the device after readjusting it, consider the incompatibility of this method and the test should not be continued by adjusting the constant force.
6. At the end of the test, visually observe whether the sample has joint cracking, delamination, changes in the reinforcement layer at the joint, etc.
7. When it is necessary to test the slippage, measure the distance S between the two marking lines again while the constant force is not withdrawn, and record it as S₁.
