Cement resistance to sulfate attack test

Cement resistance to sulfate attack test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Sulfate-resistant cement is generally used in harbor, water conservancy, underground, tunnel, culvert, road and bridge foundation projects that are subject to sulfate erosion. Sulfate attack is the most widespread and common form of chemical attack on concrete and has always been an important component in structural durability research.
The cement resistance to sulfate erosion test can examine the resistance to sulfate erosion of cement fly ash and preservatives, examine the impact of changes in particle size and molding pressure of the sand used on the test results, and analyze the indicators of corrosion coefficient and expansion rate.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various cements, and provides professional environmental testing services such as sulfate corrosion resistance testing for cement.

Scope of tests

1. Cement is divided according to its use and performance: general cement (such as Portland cement, ordinary Portland cement, slag Portland cement, pozzolanic Portland cement, fly ash Portland cement and composite Portland cement) and special cement (such as G-class oil well cement, fast hardening Portland cement, road Portland cement, aluminate cement, sulfoaluminate cement, etc.)
2. Cement is divided into Portland cement, aluminate cement, sulphoaluminate cement, ferroaluminate cement, etc. according to the names of its main hydraulic substances.
3. Cement is divided into main technical characteristics: rapid hardening (hydraulic hardness), heat of hydration, sulfate resistance, expansion, high temperature resistance, etc.

Test method

The cement sulfate corrosion resistance test method includes two test methods: the potential expansion performance test method and the immersion corrosion resistance test method.
1) Potential expansion performance test method (P method)
By adding a certain amount of dihydrate gypsum to the cement, the total SO3 content in the cement reaches a specified amount, so that the excess SO42- directly reacts with the minerals in the cement that affect the sulfate resistance to expand, and then the potential sulfate resistance of the cement mortar is measured by measuring the expansion rate of the mortar specimen at a specified age.
2) Immersion corrosion resistance test method (K method)
The cement mortar specimens were immersed in sulfate corrosion solution and water of specified concentrations and cured to a specified age, and the sulfate corrosion resistance coefficient was determined based on the ratio of flexural strength.
