Thermal cycle test of thermoplastic pipes

Thermal cycle test of thermoplastic pipes-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

The thermoplastic pipe thermal cycle test can determine the heat cycle resistance of rigid or flexible pipe and fitting assembly systems, and is suitable for thermoplastic pipe systems used to transport hot and cold water under pressure conditions.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the mechanical testing capabilities for various thermoplastic pipes and provides professional thermal cycle testing services for thermoplastic pipes.

Scope of tests

The thermoplastic pipes currently commonly used in HVAC engineering include the following types (arranged in order according to the allowable ring stress value of the pipe):
Polybutylene pipes, cross-linked polyethylene pipes, heat-resistant polyethylene pipes, random copolymerized polypropylene pipes, block copolymerized polypropylene pipes, etc.

Test method

1. The test system composed of pipes and fittings is subject to a specified number of temperature cycles. This temperature cycle is achieved by alternately transporting hot and cold water at a certain pressure.
2. Appropriate fixtures should be used to enable some pipes and fittings in the test system to withstand tensile stress and bending strain under temperature cycles.
3. Leakage should be monitored and recorded during the test.

Test standard:

GB/T 19993-2005 Thermoplastic piping systems for hot and cold water - Thermal cycle test methods for pipe and fitting assembly systems
EN 12293.1999 Plastic piping systems. Thermoplastic pipes and fittings for hot and cold water. Test method for resistance of assembled components to temperature cycles.
DIN EN 12293-1999 Plastic piping systems Thermoplastic pipes and fittings for hot and cold water Test methods for the resistance of assembled components to temperature cycles
