Test Background

Scope of tests

1) Metals and their alloys;
2) Metal covering layer (anodic and cathodic);
3) Chemical conversion overlay;
4) Organic coating on metal. It is especially suitable for comparative experiments on the optimization of surface treatment methods.

Test method

1. According to the following plan, conduct 12 hours of cyclic exposure to the sample in the salt spray box. Use the prescribed A cycle salt spray for the 1st cycle, the 8th cycle, the 15th cycle and each subsequent 7th cycle. Use the specified B cycle for other cycles.
2. Judging from actual experience, it is best to conduct the salt spray test on Monday and Friday. In this way, if the test starts on Monday, it can be ensured that the 1st cycle, 9th cycle, 15th cycle, 21st cycle, 29th cycle, etc. use A cycle. Other loops use B loop.
3. In order to meet specific requirements, there are many different standards for the evaluation of test results, such as: appearance after the test, appearance after removing surface corrosion products, corrosion defects (such as pitting corrosion, distribution and number of cracks, bubbles, etc.), time when corrosion begins, evaluation of quality changes and metal quality loss, microscopic inspection results, changes in mechanical properties.
