Aging test of paint and varnish coatings

Aging test of paint and varnish coatings-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

The paint and varnish coating aging test can evaluate the number and size of coating defects and the degree of uniform changes in appearance. It is outlined and applicable to defects and uniform changes caused by artificial accelerated aging and natural exposure, such as color changes, such as yellowing.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various paints and varnishes, and provides professional coating aging test services for paints and varnishes.

Scope of tests

Color paint is divided into primer and topcoat: primer is divided into primer, putty, mid-coat, sealer, anti-rust paint, etc.; topcoat is divided into enamel paint, special topcoat, etc.
The paint and film of varnish are transparent and are divided into ester varnish, shellac varnish, phenolic varnish, alkyd varnish, acrylic varnish, polyester varnish, high-performance varnish, fluorocarbon varnish, etc.

Test method

It is a unified agreement to use numerical grades 0 to 5 to represent the number, size and degree of defects. 0 means no defects or no changes, and 5 means the defects or changes are so serious that continued description is no longer necessary.
The four levels of numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 should be determined so that the entire range of levels is best distinguished. If necessary, the intermediate half-level can be used to record the observed phenomena in more detail.
