Aviation Tire Temperature Test

Aviation Tire Temperature Test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Aircraft tires are made of rubber materials such as rubber, nylon threads, and steel wires that are bonded together through vulcanization. They have high impact strength and low heat generation. These materials must ensure that they will not deform after 24 hours of continuous testing in the temperature range between -40 degrees and above 71 degrees, their performance must meet the specified indicators, and their burst pressure must be more than 4 times higher than the rated value.
The aircraft tire durability test determines the ambient temperature resistance of the aircraft tire bead.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various tires and provides professional ambient temperature resistance testing services for aviation tires.

Scope of tests

Aircraft tires are classified in many ways, including: type, ply level, with or without tubes, and bias or radial tires. There are also ways to identify tires based on their size.

Test method

The physical indicators such as tensile strength and elongation at break are measured at specified standard temperatures to reflect the environmental temperature resistance of aviation tires by exposing the tread rubber and sidewall rubber of aviation tires to air at two extreme temperatures of no higher than -40°C and no lower than 71°C for 24 hours respectively.

Test standard:

GB/T 9747-2008 Aviation tire test method
GB/T 528 Determination of tensile stress and strain properties of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber
GB/T 531 Rubber pocket hardness tester indentation hardness test method)
GB/T 532 Determination of bonding strength between vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber and fabric
GB/T 1682 Determination of low-temperature brittleness of vulcanized rubber Single sample method
GB/T 1689 Determination of abrasion resistance of vulcanized rubber (using Akron abrasion machine)
GB/T 2941 Rubber physical test methods General procedures for specimen preparation and adjustment
