Test Background
Asphalt waterproofing membrane refers to a rolled material made of asphalt material, tire material and anti-adhesive material spread on the surface. It is also called linoleum and is often used as a posted waterproofing layer. Heat resistance refers to the ability of an asphalt membrane specimen to slide vertically by no more than 2 mm between the coating layer and the carcass when it is suspended vertically under specified temperature conditions.
The heat resistance test of asphalt waterproofing membrane can determine the flow resistance of asphalt roofing waterproofing membrane when the temperature rises, and determine the heat resistance limit of the upper and lower surfaces of the test membrane at a specified temperature or continuously at different temperatures.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various building waterproofing membranes and provides professional heat resistance testing services for asphalt waterproofing membranes.
Scope of tests
According to different manufacturing methods, it is divided into two types: impregnated membrane (with tires) and rolled membrane (without tires). The former is made by impregnating and coating asphalt with raw paper or glass cloth, fabric and other tire materials, and then sprinkling spreading materials (talcum powder, fine sand, mica powder, etc.) on the surface; the latter is made by mixing asbestos, rubber powder, etc. into asphalt and rolling it.
Test method
1. Method A
The specimens cut from the specimens are hung vertically in the oven at the specified temperature. After the specified time, the displacement of the coating layers on both sides of the specimen relative to the carcass is measured. Average displacement exceeding 2.0 mm is considered unqualified. Thermal resistance limits are determined by interpolating between two temperature results.
2. Method B
The specimens cut from the specimens are hung vertically in the oven at the specified temperature. After the specified time, the displacement, flow and dripping of the coating layers on both sides of the specimen relative to the carcass are measured.
