Test Background
Civilian light and small UAVs refer to UAV systems (including aircraft and ground stations) with a take-off weight between 0.25kg and 150kg. The light and small UAV sand and dust test can determine the ability of civilian light and small UAV systems to withstand the sand and dust environment carried by wind or airflow moving at moderate speeds.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various civilian light and small UAV systems, and provides professional sand and dust testing services for light and small UAVs.
Scope of tests
1. UAV systems that will be affected by blowing dust during operations, such as UAV systems that take off and land on unpaved ground, are determined to be Class D equipment. Dust blowing tests should be considered for this type of equipment.
2. UAV systems that will be affected by blowing sand and dust during operations, such as UAV systems that operate, take off and land in desert areas, especially UAV systems that do not have special sand and dust prevention measures, are determined to be Class S equipment. Dust blowing and sand blowing tests should be considered for this type of equipment.
Test method
1. Dust blowing test
The test dust should be red kaolin or quartz powder, and the SiO2 content should be 97%~99%; the dust concentration blown into the test chamber should reach and remain at 3.5 g/m3 ~8.8 g/m3; the dust blowing wind speed should be maintained at 2.4 m/s~8.9 m/s; test in all 6 directions of the 3 orthogonal axes of the device under test.
2. Sand blowing test
The test sand should be SiO2 (mass fraction of at least 95%). The sand used in the test has an angular structure, the average Cronbin number of roundness and sphericity ranges from 0.5 to 0.7, the Mohs hardness factor is 7, and the recommended sand particle size range is from 150 μm to 850 μm.
