Test Background

Automobile safety glass temperature change test can determine the stability of plastic-glass composite materials and rigid plastics under temperature changes.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various automotive components and provides professional temperature change testing services for automotive safety glass.

Scope of tests

There are three main types of common automotive glass on the market: tempered glass, laminated tempered glass and laminated area tempered glass.

Test method

1. Plastic glass composite material
Place the sample in an environment with a temperature of -40 ℃ ± 5 ℃ for 6 hours, and then place it in an environment with a temperature of 23 ℃ ± 2 ℃ for 1 hour or until the sample reaches room temperature. Then place the sample in an environment with a temperature of 72 ℃ ± 2 ℃ for 3 hours. After taking it out, place the sample in an environment with a temperature of 23 ℃ ± 2 ℃ and cool it to room temperature. Check the sample for cracks, fogging, degumming or other significant defects.
2. Rigid plastic
Before the test, use a feeler gauge to measure the maximum distance between the diagonal connection line of the specimen and the surface. Place the sample on the flat glass surface in the same orientation, place it in an environment with a temperature of 72°C ± 2°C and a relative humidity of 73% ± 5% for 24 hours, and then place it in an environment with a temperature of 23°C ± 2°C and a relative humidity of 73% ± 5% for 2 hours. Take it out and dry the sample immediately in an environment with a temperature of 23°C ± 2°C and a relative humidity of 50% ± 5%. Use a feeler gauge to measure the maximum distance between the diagonal connection line of the sample and the surface after the test. Calculate the increment of specimen deformation.
