Test Background
Ozone is an extremely chemically active substance and is more likely to react chemically with polymer compounds containing double bonds than molecular oxygen. Unsaturated polymer compounds are prone to cracks perpendicular to the direction of stress when exposed to ozone under stress. The dynamic ozone resistance performance test of rubber and plastic hoses can determine the toxic effects of atmospheric ozone on hoses under dynamic conditions.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various rubber and plastic hoses, and provides professional dynamic ozone resistance performance testing services for rubber and plastic hoses.
Scope of tests
is mainly divided into threading hoses, drainage hoses, ventilation hoses, shower hoses, and wiring harness tubes according to their uses.
According to the material, it is mainly divided into: corrugated hose, rubber hose, and plastic hose.
Hoses with an inner diameter not exceeding 25 mm.
Test method
The outer covering of the hose is bent in a crescent shape and exposed to ozone, and is regularly inspected for cracks.
1. Install the sample and place it in the ozone box.
2. Bend the specimen under the specified test conditions at a frequency of 0.3 Hz ± 0.03 Hz. The maximum return stroke of the piston should be such that even if the distance from the lower end of the piston to the end of the hose is 5 times the outer diameter of the hose with a tolerance of ±2 mm, on the return stroke the piston should return to a position that allows the hose to be completely unloaded.
3. After the sample is exposed for 2h, 4h, 24h, 48h and 72h, the sample is still installed in the testing device and the bending point is inspected with a 2x magnifying glass (excluding the area near the bending point). If cracks are found, record their characteristics and the time the cracks were first noticed.
