Test Background
The polymer components in rubber materials and their products do not have the carbon source required for mold growth and have an inhibitory effect on mold growth. Other components in rubber such as vulcanization accelerators, reinforcing fillers, etc. are the main causes of mold infection. In the environment where the material is most susceptible to mold infection (temperature 2℃~38℃ and relative humidity 60%~100%), it is important to verify its ability to resist mold infection.
After rubber materials and their products are infected by mold, corrosion, fading, and other related performance degradation on the surface of the rubber materials and their products can be observed. The rubber anti-mildew performance test can measure and evaluate the anti-mildew performance of rubber materials and their products.

Scope of tests
1. According to the appearance of rubber: Rubber can be divided into four categories: solid rubber (also called dry rubber), emulsion rubber (referred to as latex), liquid rubber and powder rubber.
2. According to the performance and use of rubber: In addition to natural rubber, synthetic rubber can be divided into general synthetic rubber, semi-universal synthetic rubber, special synthetic rubber and special synthetic rubber.
3. According to the physical form of rubber: rubber can be divided into hard rubber and soft rubber, raw rubber and mixed rubber, etc.
4. According to performance and use: general rubber and special rubber.
Test method
1. Inoculation: Pour about 20 mL of nutrient salt culture medium into the sterilized plate. When the culture medium solidifies, place three parallel samples on the center of the surface of the culture medium in the three plates under sterile conditions.
2. Culture conditions
1) Cover the culture plate with the sample inoculated and place it in a constant temperature and humidity incubator with a temperature of 28 ℃ ~ 30 ℃ and a relative humidity of ≥85%.
2) The culture time of the test is 28 days. When the mold growing on the surface of the sample reaches Level 2 or higher, the test may also be terminated in less than 28 days. The final report should indicate the incubation time.
3. Effect observation After the test is completed, immediately take the sample out of the incubator and observe the growth of mold on the surface of the sample. Visual inspection should be carried out first, and then a microscope should be used for re-examination at Level 1 and Level 0, and the magnification of the microscope should be noted in the test report. Evaluate the mold resistance level of the sample according to the table.
