Weathering resistance test of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber

Weathering resistance test of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Weather exposure changes the properties of materials, especially on their surfaces. The method used to determine changes in properties should be chosen after taking into account, for example, the properties that are important in use of the material and the circumstances in which degradation of these properties may be concentrated at the surface.
The selected method should be able to ensure that important performance changes in practical applications are tested within a sufficiently accurate range, so that corresponding performance changes can be meaningfully judged. Vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber weathering tests measure changes in color, appearance, and physical properties of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber after exposure to natural or artificial weathering.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers, and provides professional weather resistance testing services for vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers.

Scope of tests

Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.

Test method

1. After the sample is exposed to natural or artificial climate, the changes in color, appearance and physical properties are measured.
Natural climate: direct atmospheric exposure, glass filtered sunlight atmospheric exposure and Fresnel mirror reflected sunlight enhanced atmospheric exposure
Artificial Climate: Laboratory Light Source Exposure
2. Measuring sample changes:
1) Appearance: color; gloss; powdering; cracks, cracks, defects, perforations or looseness; microbial growth; migration of substances from the inside of the sample to the surface.
2) Physical properties: tensile stress/tensile strain; dynamic modulus and loss coefficient; hardness; tear strength; modulus stress; compression permanent deformation; stress relaxation.
3) Other properties: size; resistivity; electrical breakdown strength; dielectric constant; chemical analysis.
