Test Background
The change in stress of a rubber sample with time under a given elongation is the result of a combination of physical and chemical processes that exist simultaneously. When thin rubber specimens are exposed to an oxygen-containing environment at high temperatures for a long time, chemical processes dominate. Therefore, under such conditions, after a period of exposure, the aging properties of rubber can be determined by testing the stress changes of thin rubber specimens deformed under tension.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers, and provides professional stress relaxation aging testing services for vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers.
Scope of tests
Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.
Test method
1. Method A is for measurement under continuous strain conditions.
2. Method B is the preferred method for measurements under intermittent strain conditions.
3. In both cases of methods A and B, use a stress relaxation meter to record the stress at the aging temperature.
Method C can be used instead of Method B for measurements under intermittent strain conditions.
In Method C, the specimen is removed from the aging environment and the stress is measured at standard laboratory temperatures.
