Test Background

The ozone crack resistance test of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber refers to a test method for ozone crack resistance of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber when exposed to air containing a certain concentration of ozone under static tensile strain and in an environment with a specified temperature and without direct influence of light.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers, and provides professional ozone crack resistance testing services for vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers.

Scope of tests

Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.

Test method

The vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber sample is exposed to air containing a constant ozone concentration and a constant temperature closed test chamber under static tensile strain conditions, and the cracks of the sample are inspected according to a predetermined time. The following methods can be used to evaluate ozone cracking under selected ozone concentration and test temperature conditions:
a) After the specified test time, check whether cracks appear on the sample, and evaluate the degree of cracks on the sample if necessary;
b) Under any specified tensile strain, determine the earliest time for cracks to appear on the sample;
c) For any specified exposure time, determine the critical strain.
