Thermal Oxidation Aging Test of Vulcanized Rubber

Thermal Oxidation Aging Test of Vulcanized Rubber-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Thermal oxygen aging of rubber is a free radical chain reaction, and it is an autocatalytic oxidation reaction caused by ROOH or a catalytic oxidation reaction caused by heavy metal ions. If we can try to prevent this chain reaction from proceeding or prevent catalytic oxidation, we can delay the aging of rubber. Chain-terminating antioxidants, hydroperoxide-destroying antioxidants, and heavy metal ion passivators have been developed. The most important factor in rubber aging is oxidation, which causes the rubber molecular structure to crack or structure, causing the rubber material properties to deteriorate.
The vulcanized rubber thermal oxygen aging test can determine the accelerated aging adaptability of vulcanized rubber in high temperature and high pressure oxygen environments. Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers and provides professional thermal oxidative aging testing services for vulcanized rubber.

Scope of tests

In terms of its vulcanization method, vulcanized rubber can be roughly divided into:
1) Flat vulcanizing machine vulcanization: flat tapes such as conveyor belts and transmission belts;
2) Vulcanizing tank vulcanization: rubber hoses, rubber rollers, rubber shoes, air bags, rubber strips, tapes, roller coatings, pipe linings, cables, etc.;
3) Continuous vulcanization: sealing strips, pure rubber hoses, wires and cables, etc.

Test method

Rubber and its products will inevitably cause a decline in physical properties after enduring thermal oxygen aging for a long time. After the sample is exposed to high temperature and high pressure oxygen environment and aged for a certain period of time, its performance is measured and compared with the performance of the unaged sample.
