Test Background
Too high a temperature can cause thermal cracking or thermal cross-linking of rubber. For example, rubber begins to decompose into low molecular substances when the temperature exceeds 200 degrees Celsius. Because the activation of heat increases the oxygen diffusion rate and activation oxidation reaction, it accelerates the rubber oxidation reaction rate, causing the rubber to be aged by thermal oxygen. The vulcanized rubber pressurized air thermal aging test can determine the aging resistance of vulcanized rubber under the action of heat and pressurized air.

Scope of tests
In terms of its vulcanization method, vulcanized rubber can be roughly divided into:
1) Flat vulcanizing machine vulcanization: flat tapes such as conveyor belts and transmission belts;
2) Vulcanizing tank vulcanization: rubber hoses, rubber rollers, rubber shoes, air bags, rubber strips, tapes, roller coatings, pipe linings, cables, etc.;
3) Continuous vulcanization: sealing strips, pure rubber hoses, wires and cables, etc.
Test method
1. After the sample is exposed to high temperature and pressure air environment and aged, its performance is measured and compared with the performance of the unaged sample.
2. Before measuring the physical properties of the sample, the environment should be adjusted according to relevant regulations. When measuring the sample, a marking line should be added to the sample to determine the elongation.
3. The cross-sectional dimensions required to calculate physical properties should be measured before aging.
4. The tensile properties and hardness of the specimen before aging should be measured within 96 hours after the aging begins.
5. The aged samples should be placed for at least 16 hours but not more than 96 hours before performance measurement.
