Test Background
The salt spray environment may cause adverse corrosion, electrical and physical effects on equipment (products), such as corrosion caused by electrochemical reactions, accelerated stress corrosion, damage to electrical equipment caused by salt deposits, corrosion of insulating materials and metals, blockage or jamming of moving parts of mechanical parts and components, blistering of coatings due to electrolysis, etc.
The military equipment salt spray test can determine the salt spray environment adaptability of various military equipment, determine the effectiveness of the material protective layer and decorative layer, and determine the impact of salt deposits on the physical and electrical properties of the equipment.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of climatic environment testing and mechanical environment testing of various military equipment, and provides professional salt spray testing services for military equipment.
Scope of tests
1. Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of equipment and its material protective coverings and decorative layers, locate potential problem areas, discover quality control defects and design defects, etc.;
2. Preferred materials and evaluation equipment;
3. Equipment mainly exposed to the atmosphere with high salt content.
Test method
1. The concentration of the salt solution should be 5% ± 1%, and the water used should comply with regulations to avoid rice contamination or changes in acid-base conditions that would affect the test results.
2. Use the test procedure of alternating 24 hours of salt spray spraying and 24 hours of drying for a total of 96 hours (2 spraying and wetting stages and 2 drying stages).
3. The test temperature during the spray stage is 35℃±2℃. This temperature does not simulate actual exposure temperature. Other temperatures may be used if appropriate.
4. During the test, the wind speed in the test chamber should be as low as possible.
5. Adjust the sedimentation rate of the salt spray so that the collection volume of each collector in a horizontal collection area of 80cm2 (true diameter 10cm) is 11mL~3mL solution per hour.
