Military Equipment Mold Test

Military Equipment Mold Test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Mold growth can change the physical properties of equipment and impair its functionality or use. Non-mold-resistant materials are susceptible to direct erosion by mold, because mold can decompose materials and use them as their own nutrients, leading to the deterioration of the physical properties of the equipment; the metabolites secreted by mold (such as organic acids) can cause metal corrosion, glass etching, coloring or degradation of plastics and other materials; mold growth on equipment can cause physiological problems in humans (such as allergies), or affect the appearance of the equipment, causing users to be reluctant to use the equipment.
Military equipment mold testing can measure the mold environmental adaptability of various military equipment, evaluate the degree of mold growth on the equipment and the impact of mold growth on the performance or use of the equipment.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of climatic environment testing and mechanical environment testing of various military equipment, and provides professional mold testing services for military equipment.

Scope of tests

1. Whether the equipment or components are moldy;
2. The growth rate of mold on equipment;
3. The impact of mold growing on equipment on the equipment and its task completion and use safety;
4. Whether the equipment can be effectively stored in the environment;
5. If mold grows, is there an easy way to remove it?

Test method

1. The minimum duration of the mold test is 28 days (the minimum time for mold to germinate, decompose carbon-containing molecules, and degrade materials is 28 days). Since the indirect erosion and physical impact of mold growth on the test piece cannot occur within a short test duration, if it is required to increase the degree of certainty or reduce the risk in determining the impact of mold growth on the test piece, consideration should be given to extending the test duration to 84 days.
2. A group of mold strains should be selected during the test, and the strains can be adjusted according to regulations if necessary. These strains are selected based on their ability to degrade materials, their distribution on the earth, and their own stability.
