Hot and humid environments may cause these effects on military equipment: metal oxidation/electrochemical corrosion, chemical or electrochemical damage to organic and inorganic surface coatings, corrosion layers produced by the interaction of surface water vapor and foreign attachments, bonding or adhesion caused by changes in friction coefficients, material expansion due to absorption effects, reduction in physical strength, changes in electrical insulation and thermal insulation properties, electrical short circuits and optical surface blur caused by condensation and free water, etc.
