Military equipment cryogenic test

Military equipment cryogenic test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Low temperature has an adverse effect on almost all base materials. For equipment exposed to low temperature environments, because low temperature will change the physical properties of its constituent materials, it may cause temporary or permanent damage to its working performance. The hazards of low-temperature environments to military equipment may include: hardening and embrittlement of materials, changes in the performance of electronic devices (resistors, capacitors, etc.), static fatigue of constrained glass, increased rigidity of vibration-damping frames, etc. Therefore, low temperature testing should be considered whenever equipment is exposed to temperatures below standard atmospheric conditions.
The low-temperature test of military equipment can measure the adaptability of various military equipment to low-temperature environments and evaluate the impact of low-temperature conditions on the safety, integrity, and performance of equipment during storage, work, and disassembly and assembly operations.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of climatic environment testing and mechanical environment testing of various military equipment, and provides professional low-temperature testing services for military equipment.

Scope of tests

Military equipment that may need to be used in low temperature environments: military electronic computers, auxiliary aircraft, service ships, military surveying and mapping equipment, meteorological support equipment, military vehicles and camouflage equipment, etc.

Test method

This test includes three test procedures: Procedure I—Storage, Procedure II—Work, and Procedure III—Disassembly and Assembly Operation. Based on the demand for test data, determine the applicable test procedures, combinations of test procedures, or the order in which each procedure is implemented. In most cases, all three programs are used.
1) Procedure I is used to check the impact of low temperature during storage on the safety of equipment during and after storage, and on the performance of equipment after storage.
2) Procedure II is used to check the working condition of the equipment in low temperature environment. “Working” in this section refers to the start-up and operation of equipment with minimal human contact.
3) Procedure III is used to test whether it is easy for operators to assemble and disassemble equipment while wearing heavy cold-proof clothing.
