Heavy leather waterproof performance test

From the perspective of leather's own structure, leather is a complex composed of collagen fibers, tanning agents and other chemical products, and is highly hydrophilic. Therefore, leather products without waterproof (hydrophobic) treatment will show poor adaptability and weather resistance.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the physical and mechanical testing capabilities for various heavy leathers, and provides professional waterproof performance testing services for heavy leathers.

Heavy leather products mainly include tire leather, shuttle leather, oil ring leather, shoe sole leather (can be subdivided into insole, midsole and outsole leather) and equipment leather, etc.

When the sample is subjected to force and deflection (such as the force applied to the shoe sole during walking), the surface is continuously wetted, and the penetration time, water absorption rate, penetration area and penetration rate are measured.
1) Penetration time: The time required for water to penetrate from the wet grain surface of the sample to the other side of the sample under flexure.
2) Water absorption: The increased moisture content of the sample over a certain period of time, based on the mass of the air-conditioned sample.
3) Penetration area: Calculate the area of the flesh surface that is infiltrated when water penetrates from the wet grain surface of the sample to the flesh surface.
4) Permeability: the rate at which water penetrates the sample, based on the amount of water permeable to the sample within a certain period of time during the initial test (usually 10 minutes).
