The main use of polyphenylene sulfide fiber is as filter fabric in baghouses of industrial coal-fired boilers. Polyphenylene sulfide fiber fabric can be exposed to acidic environments for a long time and can be used in high temperature environments. It is one of the few fibers that can withstand wear and tear.
Polyphenylene sulfide fiber can also be used as dryer canvas, sewing thread, various protective cloths, heat-resistant clothing, electrical insulation materials, electrolytic diaphragms, friction pads (for brakes), composite materials, and can also be interwoven with carbon fiber to strengthen PPS resin, which can maintain its unidirectional strength.
The acid, alkali and high temperature resistance performance test of polyphenylene sulfide fiber can measure the fracture strength retention rate of polyphenylene sulfide fiber after being soaked in acid, alkali solution and baked at high temperature.
