Test Background

The purpose of the Chill and Heat Accelerated Aging Strength Test of natural stone is to understand the possible changes in stone under alternating high and low temperature conditions, including changes in appearance, quality and dynamic elastic modulus, in order to determine the Chill and Heat Accelerated Aging Performance of the stone and ensure the safety of the building.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various natural stones, and provides professional reliability testing services such as chilled and heated accelerated aging strength tests for natural stone products.

Scope of tests

Natural stone refers to the general name for materials that are mined from natural rock masses and processed into block or plate shapes.
The natural stones used for building decoration mainly include natural marble, natural jade (for decoration, non-commercial jade), granite, sandstone, slate, quartz-based stone, etc.

Test method

After the sample is dried to constant weight at (105±5) ℃, it is subjected to periodic cycle processing in sequence, that is, after drying at (105±5) ℃, it is immediately immersed in water at (20±5) ℃, repeated 20 times, and then dried to constant weight and its appearance changes, mass changes and changes in dynamic elastic modulus are measured.
