Test Background
Resistance to hot and cold temperature differences refers to the ability of a paint film to withstand alternating hot and cold temperature changes while maintaining its original performance. Some paint films may experience blistering, powdering, cracking, peeling, and discoloration when the temperature difference between hot and cold is large. The furniture surface paint film resistance to hot and cold temperature difference test can determine the resistance of the paint film on the surface of wooden parts in furniture to hot and cold temperature differences.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability of various furniture surface paint films, and provides professional reliability testing services such as hot and cold temperature difference resistance tests for furniture surface paint film products.
Scope of tests
The cured surface of all painted furniture, not suitable for leather furniture and textile furniture surfaces.
Test method
1. Use the specified edge sealing material to seal the sides and back of the sample. If a paraffin-rosin mixture is used for edge sealing, the mixing ratio is 1:1.
2. The sample should be placed horizontally in the constant temperature and humidity chamber.
3. A test cycle consists of two stages. The first stage: high temperature 40 ℃ ± 2 ℃, relative humidity 95% ± 3%, 1 h; the second stage: low temperature -20 ℃ ± 2 ℃, 1 h. The time for high and low temperature transfer should not exceed 2 minutes.
4. After the test, place the sample at 20°C ± 2°C and a relative humidity of 60% to 70% for 18 hours, then clean the surface with a dry cotton cloth and inspect it.
Rating
1. Exclude the range 20 mm from the edge of the sample, and use a four-fold magnifying glass to observe the paint film surface in the middle part. If any defects such as cracks, bubbling, obvious loss of gloss, and discoloration occur, the sample will be assessed as unqualified (regardless of the shape, size, and number of defects).
2. There should be three testers to evaluate each sample respectively. If at least two of them pass the evaluation, the sample is qualified, otherwise it is unqualified.
3. Three samples are evaluated separately. If at least two samples are qualified, they are evaluated as qualified; otherwise, they are judged as unqualified.
